Email Delivery Delay For Mac 2011
Ever since upgrading my 2017 iMac to High Sierra I've noticed a significant Messages delivery delay. My iMac is connected to my router via Ethernet.
It performs as expected with all other Internet services. I've noticed that Messages which appear on both my iPhone and iPad in real time are often delayed several minutes or even several hours on the iMac. This morning I was sitting at the iMac and heard the message delivery tone on both my iPhone and iPad, but nothing on the iMac.

I found the iPad and carried on a 15 minute conversation with my daughter. When I got back to the iMac, none of the conversation had appeared. It finally showed up, all at once, about 15 minutes later. The other day, a conversation I had with my wife via iPhone while I was away from home still hadn't appeared when I got back to the iMac. It finally showed up, all at once, three hours later. All my devices are configured identically with the same email addresses to be used for Messages and with the same telephone number used to originate messages. I've tried restarting the iMac, but that hasn't helped.

We all expect less-than-perfect synchronization between devices, but with High Sierra the delay in Messages delivery is huge and not really acceptable. Well I can also comment on this. I have 1 x iPhone, 1 x iPad, 1 x iMac and 1 x Macbook pro 2016 and ever since upgrading all my devices to the new versions every single device is having issues with messages. If i send a message on my iphone or ipad the message goes right away to the end user but the messages can take up to 1 hour to show up on my iMac or Macbook Pro, when i try and send messages from either my iMac or Macbook Pro no messages can be sent at all they just sit there and wont go. I have spoken with support on the phone and they have no idea at all what the issue is and are not willing to help me. I am going to be making a complaint because the support person didnt give a care and their answer was well send messages from your iphone only.
