The below is the steps for drawing a Venn diagram with MS Word. It May be difficult, as the MS Word is a ducument software, not an expert for drawing. Placing a text box in front of the diagram won't work, because I sometimes need to resize and move the diagram, as well as make it more complex.

Hi Alicia, Probably the circle you drew or inserted is aligned on a paragraph and in order for you to get a text box to 'float' on top of it, you have to change the Wrapping Text attribute setting on the shape. Just right click on the shape and choose the Wrapping Text option. Set it to Behind Text and you'll now be able to draw a text box on top of the circle. When you are all done with aligning everything the way you want, hold down the shift key and select everything. Now right click and choose Group. With everything grouped as one item, you can now drag the shape and text anywhere on the page.

You might also take a look at the SmartArt function on the Insert tab. Under the list category they have something already that is pretty close to a Venn Diagram and with a little rearrangement it might be a bit quicker to use. Hope this helps ________________________________ Richard V.
