We have several users who have experienced this. They attempt to send an IM to an internal user. They receive an error stating that the message was not sent. The other user did in fact receive the message. This results in the sender re-sending several times and the recipient getting duplicates of the message. When this issue occurs seems to be pretty random, but does occur often enough to prompt people to report it.
